Reduced Glutathione (GSH) Assay Kit 50T/48S
Glutathione is a naturally occurring tripeptide composed of glutamic acid (Glu), cysteine (Cys), and glycine (Gly). It contains a sulfhydryl group (-SH) and is widely found in animal and plant tissues, as well as in microorganisms and yeast. Glutathione reacts with 5,5’-dithiobis-(2-nitrobenzoic acid) (DTNB) to form glutathione disulfide (GSSG) and 2-nitro-5-mercaptobenzoic acid, a yellow compound with a maximum absorbance at 412 nm.
