Description
Alkaline Phosphatase (AKP/ALP) Activity Assay Kit – 50T/24S
Alkaline Phosphatase (AKP/ALP) is a zinc-containing glycoprotein enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of various natural and synthetic phosphomonoester compounds under alkaline conditions. It is widely distributed in human tissues, with the highest concentrations found in the liver. Under alkaline conditions, AKP/ALP hydrolyzes disodium phenyl phosphate to produce phenol, which then reacts with 4-aminoantipyrine and potassium ferricyanide to form a red quinone derivative. This derivative exhibits a characteristic absorbance at 510 nm.
